The benefit of playing piano

In my mind, everyone should learn music, even if they are not trying to become professional musicians. Playing the piano offers a plethora of health benefits that will supplement every part of your life. And that doesn’t even begin to consider the deep cultural network and historical tradition that you join as a piano player and owner.

The piano practice also boosts cognitive and intellectual abilities, which is to say it makes you smarter and activates similar parts of the brain used in spatial reasoning and math. Studying piano has also been shown to amazingly improve memory, and build good habits like focus and perseverance, diligence, and creativity.

It is no surprise that learning to play the piano requires hand-eye coordination, but a recent study on hand motor control in musicians suggests that piano performers have actually changed the cortical mapping to increase finger speeds. For children and adults with reduced motor skills, learning to play the piano can challenge these brain connections to motor movement and even strengthen coordination.

The piano is the best instrument to start with because the piano lays the basic foundation of music. The piano lesson can lead the interest to all other instruments, students can learn the music theory, fingers technique, and ear training which can be only practiced on piano!

Why choose Me?

Since 2008, I’ve been working with students of all ages and abilities and guiding them as they increase their practical and theoretical skills. I love sharing my passion with others and am so grateful that I get to do this incredible job every single day.

For young piano students, I always encourage my younger students to practice with joy and always develop their own interests in various music genres. Learning music is not only about technique, or being a famous musician, but also knowing how to enjoy the music, and more music history and theory.

I introduce Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary music to all of my students, to extend their knowledge of music by learning varied styles of music. My students are also enjoying playing piano duet— it’s a collaboration music genre to work with friends or siblings, it develops a stronger sense of the roles of melody and accompaniment in music, and usually has a better ability to voice melodies further down the road of study. A piano duet makes the piano more fun to play.

Because of my experience, I knew how to treat students independently, I will arrange each students' learning process the give them the best learning experience. I want all of my students to love music and enjoy playing the piano!

For the students who want to be a pianist as their career or future plan, I have been trained professionally and received my Doctoral degree in piano performance, I receive my Master’s degree in piano performance at Indiana University Bloomington Jacobs school music—that is the TOP 5 music school in the USA! in the meantime, I have taken piano pedagogy class which helps me to gain more strategies in piano teaching!

I am looking forward to getting to know you and to launch our musical adventure!
